Shaving My Head

I decided to take the leap and do what women always talk about—shave my head.

I had over two foot long hair that had a lot of emotions connected to it—it was a source of abuse but also one of the only sources of affection. My mother was known to yank it when she wanted me to move, but also would occasionally brush it with the most tender touch. It was always long as hell.

I’m on this mental health kick, which has turned into a physical health kick, and I decided that it meant cutting off my hair.

So in true Gemini moon fashion, I shaved my head.

Normally associated with mental instability, I was kind of nervous—but now, I just feel healthy. It was a fun experience, and my boyfriend shaved my head which was oddly spiritual. I thought I would share the process below, for some giggles and hair changing inspo.
